MANUELA SEDMACH
DESTINAZIONE PROVVISORIA

Galleria Torbandena presents Destinazione provvisoria (Temporary Destination), a solo-exhibition by Manuela Sedmach. The show consists in a selection of the most recent works of the artist belonging to the long series of canvases identified with the same title, that have been recently characterized her entire production. As a natural consequence, the exhibition shares as well the title with the previous show that took place in Galleria Continua of San Gimignano during the Spring of 2006.

Calling her work series could sounds reductive, but Manuela is inside it completely. As it already happens in the creative past of the artist, her tendency to a well defined objective offers us a sequence of intermediate visions with great intellectual fascination and pictorial beauty.

Once the vortex of matter has been abandoned, now is the time for deserts, foggy views extended to the infinite, without a destination point. Stages of a long travel which hypnotize in their apparent being equal, but that gifts new interesting points of view to an observer without haste, able to keep himself far from the simple objective observation.

Manuela suggests to whoever wanted to walk flanked by her, in this world without handles, a different idea of a route and of an arrival: a constant temporary destination, a travel without end neither due to a mistake nor to incapacity but to choice. This seems to be the key: to paint a destination which is not wanted to be reached. It is the perfect metaphor of the provisional aspect of our expectations.

Present at the main contemporary art fairs throughout the world, the painter from Trieste, with an extensive career has held many exhibitions in private galleries and Italian and European museums, as the Civico Museo Revoltella from Trieste and the Museo Smak from Gent in Belgium, that has even acquired one of her works for their permanent collection.

The show will be open until the end of December 2007.

Opening: Friday, November 30, 6.00 pm.

Timetable: Tuesday - Saturday 10 am - 1 pm and 4 pm - 7.30 pm.
